Star Wars Episode 8 May Feature Prince William and Prince Harry as Stormtroopers

The Force must have been very strong indeed when Prince William and Prince Harry visited the U.K. set of “Star Wars: Episode VIII.”

Not content with merely battling each other with lightsabers and hanging out with Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill and Chewbacca, the royal brothers then reportedly suited up as stormtroopers and filmed cameos.

“The Princes dressed up in full stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base,” the U.K. Daily Mail quotes a source as saying. “The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicia del Toro’s character when a group of stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.”

The Star Wars Episode 8 Report about Prince William and Prince Harry May Be Impossible to Confirm

Of course, the report will likely be impossible to confirm or deny — ever — because the princes’ faces were said to be concealed by helmets and the scene supposedly was shot in the utmost secrecy on a cleared set. The studio isn’t commenting and a royal spokesperson said only, “The princes had a great day showcasing the British talent behind ‘Star Wars.’”

But it’s certainly not outside the realm of possibilities. For one, the photos from the visit to Pinewood Studios proved that William and Harry did in fact have a thoroughly great time, sitting in a space ship, meeting  BB-8 and C-3PO and checking out some weaponry.

“Why do I always have to be the baddie?” Harry joked during the the lightsaber fight, then turned to his brother and said, “Come on, let’s dance.”
Also, it wouldn’t be the first high-profile incognito cameo. James Bond star Daniel Craig also reportedly slipped into Stormtrooper gear for a quick appearance in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“Star Wars: Episode VIII,” which also stars Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac and Laura Dern, is set to hit theaters in December 2017. The next “Star Wars”-themed movie, the spinoff, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” opens Dec. 16.
