Johnny Depp Compares Himself to a Bologna Sandwich in Facebook Video

Here’s a question Johnny Depp must not get every day: If you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be?

“Easy,” the actor quickly says. “I was born and raised in Kentucky for the first eight or nine years of my life and then moved to South Florida. Well, my family being kind of on the hillbilly side, I’d be a bologna sandwich.”

Fielding fan questions in a Facebook video this week to promote “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” Depp was asked by director, James Bobin, a Brit, what a bologna sandwich is.

“No one knows what it is,” says Depp. “I think it’s just everything that they can’t use. I’d be a bologna sandwich. It would be a white trash sandwich. Wonder bread and a piece of bologna. Basically the stuff they give you in jail.”

Johnny Depp Calls His Brain a Circus That Never Stops

It’s just one of the trippy exchanges involving the star, who plays the Mad Hatter in the sequel to the Tim Burton-directed “Alice in Wonderland.” Another comes when he’s he was asked if he has his own Wonderland, either in reality or in his head.

“My brain, I can say with 1,000 percent, is not a wonderland,” Depp says. “It is a circus that is constant and I don’t know that it’s healthy.”

Johnny Depp Reveals His Real-Life Wonderland

But he does admit to visiting a real-life Wonderland of sorts where he can escape from the paparazzi.

“I have a place that I get to go to in the Bahamas that is, yeah, it’s the only place that guarantees me total anonymity and freedom, I suppose,” he said.
