Alexander Skarsgard Roars in Loincloth in 'The Legend of Tarzan'

When we asked Alexander Skarsgard if he planned to do the famous yell in the forthcoming Tarzan movie, he said he couldn’t answer that. “Well, I might be. Maybe,” he added.

As it turns out, the hunky actor fulfills the longstanding tradition of Tarzans before him with an intimidating battle cry in the trailer released Tuesday for “The Legend of Tarzan.”

“He’s no normal man,” says Jane, his wife played by Margot Robbie. Abandoned in the Congo and raised by apes as a feral child, this iteration of “Tarzan” sees him transformed into a gentleman living it up properly in 1880s London.

But a conflict sends him back to the jungle, swinging from vines, fighting man and beast, and trading his posh suits for loincloth—better to show off those abs.

Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Djimon Hounsou also star in “The Legend of Tarzan,” opening on July 1, 2016. Watch the trailer below.
