Batman v Superman Imax Reviews By Fans

After a long buildup, the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel finally went at it before actual movie audiences on Monday night.

And while the official reviews remain under embargo, the first people to see special “Batman v Superman Imax screenings came away awed.

Social Media Reaction: Batman v Superman Imax Moviegoers Praise Film

In a word, one moviegoer summarized it as “Amazing.” Adding, “a true mark on the superhero genre.. FOREVER.” Another enthused fan said it “just wrecked me,” and the chorus of praise continued from another lucky viewer who said “it was better than MoS” (“Man of Steel”). The lucky viewers attended the special Batman v Superman Imax screening after participating in the social media contest “#IMAXBVS.”

“Batman v Superman,” which opens wide Friday, stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman–as Gotham’s vigilante takes on the super hero out of fears that his powers were going unchecked and he was reaching god-like status. Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman, the heroine keeping peace between them, and Jesse Eisenberg is the villain Lex Luthor–who is seemingly pulling the strings behind Batman and Superman’s rivalry.

In an interview with EW, Gadot said that she was proud to wear the star-spangled costume because the iconic character is inspiring to little girls. “I’m so happy that when [my daughter] grows up she’s going to see a female figure she can be inspired by.”

Speaking to Made in Hollywood, Eisenberg said his evil Lex Luthor has good intentions, but he is simply misunderstood.  “He thinks he’s saving humanity from this very risky threat of Superman, who can destroy a city singlehandedly. So, I probably have to think of the character as the good guy, even though, clearly, he’s not.”

The Zack Snyder-directed action film, which also stars Lawrence Fishbourne and Amy Adams hits theaters on  Friday.
