'Fifty Shades of Grey' Sequels to Shoot Back-to-Back

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequels will tie up its stars and director James Foley in a back-to-back filming schedule, The Wrap reports.

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele, a naive college student who finds love, latex and whiplashes in the titular mogul with a fetish, Christian Grey.

Bestselling author E.L. James’ erotic novel grossed more than $560 million worldwide after its release around Valentine’s Day earlier this year. The S&M flick became the highest February debut ever after earning $85 million. It bested the record held by 2004’s “Passion of the Christ,” which took in a weekend gross of $83.8 million.

Success around the romantic holiday will likely come again when “Fifty Shades Darker” opens Feb. 10, 2017 and “Fifty Shades Freed” hits theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
