The Four Horsemen Assemble in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
It’s the end of the world as we know it for mutant and humankind after Oscar Isaac‘s god-like villain Apocalypse awakens.
“Some believe that the first mutant was born thousands of years ago,” Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne) explains in the new “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer released Thursday. “He was some kind of god, and he’s going to rise again.”
An ancient Egyptian ritual revives Apocalypse whose human form later turns grotesque.
Advancing into the future–that being the 1980s–he assembles his Four Horsemen to bring destruction. A young Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psyloche (Olivia Munn) and Angel (Ben Hardy) use their powers to serve his evil purposes. “Together we will cleanse the Earth for the strongest,” Apocalypse tells his posse.

“He means to destroy this world,” Professor X (James McAvoy) says, adding, “billions of people killed.”
Jennifer Lawrence‘s conflicted Mystique helps lead the X-Men in a fight against evil. She’s joined by Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, Kodi Smit-McPhee’s Nightcrawler, Tye Sheridan’s Cyclops and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” opens May 27.
