Henry Cavill Goes Unrecognized in Superman Shirt

We never would have believed it if we hadn’t seen it with our own two naked eyes.

Henry Cavill seemed to have settled the long-running debate over whether Clark Kent really could disguise his Superman identify merely by wearing glasses.

The star of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” took to the streets of New York where signs for the movie are plastered everywhere and nobody recognized him, sans spectacles, as the Man of Steel, according to a funny video posted on his Instagram page.

The actor even upped the ante by wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with Superman’s iconic red-S symbol — and still Gotham-ites walked on by with paying any notice.

Henry Cavill: ‘Glasses Are Good Enough’ to Hide Identity

“Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman,” Cavill wrote.

Which proves the power of the glasses — or that Cavill needs a better publicist.

In the action flick, now in theaters, Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman are enemies.

Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, camps it up as an eccentric villain determined to bring down Gotham’s saviors–seemingly pulling the strings behind their rivalry.
