Ice Cube on 'Compton' Snub: 'It's the Oscars, They Do What They Do'

With Twitter buzzing with #OscarsSoWhite outrage over the Academy Awards nominations, one star whose movie got largely overlooked is taking it in stride.

“Straight Outta Compton” producer Ice Cube spoke out about the Oscars nominating only white actors and actresses and giving the only nod for the critically acclaimed “Compton” to its white screenwriters.

“I’m not surprised. It’s the Oscars, they do what they do,” Cube said Thursday on “The Wendy Williams Show” while promoting “Ride Along 2.”

“The people loved the movie, the people supported the movie,” adds. “It was No. 1 at the box office, over $200 million worldwide. I can’t be mad, you know.”
