J.K. Simmons, best known for playing amiable dads and an amiable TV pitchman when he isn’t scaring the daylights out of young music students, is getting bulked up to play Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming “Justice League” movie.

The 61-year-old Oscar winner for “Whiplash” is working with retired Marine Aaron Williamson, who’s bulked up actors like Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson.

“Every time we train together I forget he’s 61 years old,” Williamson wrote in an Instagram photo of Simmons. “So much respect for this guy. #JKSimmons #OldManCranking.”

Opening in November of 2017, “Justice League” returns Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman as they unite to battle evil with the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
