Spring Movie Special on Made in Hollywood

Spring is going to feel a lot like summer at the movies.

Blockbuster comic book films, an animated feature based on a mobile game and dramas with Hollywood’s biggest stars arrive at the box office in April and May, and Made in Hollywood has all the details in its spring movie special this weekend.

Hosts Patrick Stinson and Kylie Erica Mar preview what could be some of the biggest films of the year getting out in front of the summer movie season. Plus, a mega-hit goes to DVD and Blu-ray.

Hollywood’s Top Actresses Kick Off the Spring Movie Season

“Mother’s Day” (April 29)

Julia Roberts stars in this look at the many different relationships between mothers and their children, with Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Britt Robertson from “Tomorrowland.”

“Captain America: Civil War” (May 6)

Captain America (Chris Evans) fights Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in the latest blockbuster in the Marvel universe, with Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Holland in his debut as Spider-Man.

The Angry Birds Get the Spring Movie Treatment

“The Angry Birds Movie” (May 20)

The popular app hits the big screen as three birds investigate the arrival of pigs on their island in the animated feature voiced by Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Peter Dinklage, Kate McKinnon and Josh Gad. Watch the trailer below:

“The Nice Guys” (May 20)

Ryan Gosling is strong-armed by Russell Crowe into investigating the death of a porn star, with Matt Bomer.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” (May 27)

Jennifer Lawrence gets into comic book action as the X-Men must destroy the world’s most powerful mutant, co-starring Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Nicholas Hoult and Oscar Isaac from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” (May 27)

Johnny Depp returns as the Mad Hatter and Anne Hathaway is the White Queen as Alice (Mia Wasikowska) goes back to Wonderland. The late Alan Rickman plays the Blue Caterpillar and Sacha Baron Cohen is Time.

And on DVD/Blu-ray this spring: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Ride Along 2.”
