She made her career playing lovable girls-next-door, but in “Minions” Sandra Bullocks gets her evil on as the voice of the devilishly named Scarlet Overkill, out for the crown jewels of Britain.
“It’s fantastic because she’s justified, she’s misunderstood,” Bullock told Reuters on the yellow carpet at the London premiere June 11. “She’s an 8-year old little girl who’s throwing temper tantrums because she wants what she wants. But it was really fun to play.”
Fun — and relatively easy, as producers of the “Despicable Me” spinoff were able to accommodate her busy schedule with 5-year-old son Louis.
“I said, ‘If we’re in L.A., we go to school, if we’re in Austin, we go to school, drop off at 9, and then I can be anywhere after that, and then I need to be out by a certain time to do the pickup,’ and they said, ‘Fine,'” she told Access Hollywood. “So they worked around little chunks around my schedule, or Louis’ schedule, and it was brilliant.”
