Bad Weather Is Kryptonite for Superman Henry Cavill

Gal Gadot isn’t the only cast mate with qualms about filmingBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in the winter.

“The most intense scene or sequence to shoot was the Bat fight because we shot there in various locations non-consecutively over five months,” Henry Cavill told Made in Hollywood of taking on the role of Superman. “We started in the sweltering heat of the Michigan summer and finished in the winter — all of it raining — and just moving from spot to spot. That was pretty tough.”

Cavill — who said Christian Bale‘s Batman is his all-time favorite next to Ben Affleck‘s — was impressed with the sets used for the movie.

“We built our sets really, really well,” he explained. “I would say the Bat fight out of all of them actually looks the most like it was finished up with. When it came to the final act, it was mostly done in a greenroom.”

Jesse Eisenberg camps it up as Batman and Superman’s eccentric villain Lex Luther, who’s determined to bring down Gotham’s saviors–seemingly pulling the strings behind their rivalry.

Gadot, who makes her first appearance as Wonder Woman in the movie, joins forces to keep peace. She tells EW that a strong female character is inspiring. “I’m so happy that when [my daughter] grows up she’s going to see a female figure she can be inspired by.”

The Zack Snyder-directed film hits theaters on Friday.
