Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’ Halloween Movie Offers Tricks and Treats
“An unimaginable terror will be awakened,” reads the apt tagline for “Boo! A Madea Halloween.”
Enter Tyler Perry‘s larger-than-life delicate flower Madea, who is seen in the trailer released Friday firing off a shotgun. “Why ya’ll running?” she asks as trick-or-treaters bolt from her door. “I don’t play that Halloween bulls***.”
On this Madea Halloween adventure, she spends the holiday fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens.
Tyler Perry Joined By Bella Thorne and YouTube Star Kian Lawley
Writer-director Perry revives his Madea character after 2014’s “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Neighbors From Hell.” During his hiatus, he helmed several hit TV programs.
The film also star Bella Thorne as Rain, YouTube sensation Kian Lawley as Bean Boy, Cassi Davis as Aunt Bam, Patrice Lovely as Hattie, Andre Hall as Quinton, Yousef Erakat as Jonathan, Lexy Panterra as Leah, Diamond White as Tiffany, Liza Koshy as Aday, Brock O’Hurn as Horse, Jimmy Tatro as Sean, JC Caylen as Mikey, and Mike Tornabene as Dino.
This is a career boost for Lawley, whose full-length feature debut was last year’s horror film “The Chosen.” The heartthrob has more than 3 million YouTube subscribers to his channel where he publishes humorous video shorts—mostly under seven minutes long—like “I Peed My Pants in the Library” and “How to Know If You’re a Tool.”
No doubt his massive social following will help fill seats when “Boo! A Madea Halloween” opens Oct. 21.
