Chris Hemsworth: No More Dropping Major Weight for Movies

Chris Hemsworth Won’t Be Losing Big Weight Again for a Movie Role

No more wasting away for Chris Hemsworth. The actor shed a scary amount of weight to play a castaway for “In the Heart of the Sea,” taking his ripped Thor body down to what looked like skin and bones.

“I don’t think I’d lose it again, no, because it’s just too exhausting,” he tells Wonderwall. “There are smarter ways of doing it now, I think, camera trickery and so on.”

Not that this is the end of  body issues for Hemsworth — at least not at home.  The actor, now starring in “The Huntsman: Winter’s War,” says his 4-year-old daughter is suddenly fascinated with all things anatomical, especially involving her 2-year-old twin brothers.

Chris Hemsworth Reveals a Very Awkward Conversation with His Daughter

“My daughter is kind of envious of my boys, at the moment,” Hemsworth said Monday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “She came to me the other day and she was like, ‘Ya know papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ she was like, ‘Ya know the things in between the legs that you have.’ I was like, ‘Oh, um. Well you see. Girls…'”

Hemsworth adds: “Then my brain’s like how do we handle this. ‘Girls have breasts.’  ‘I don’t want breasts!’ I was like, ok. Um. She was like I really want one. I was like,  ‘A penis?’ She was like, ‘I want a penis!’ I was like, Oh, okay. Um.”

With that, his daughter ran off to the playground. “I’ll have to pick that conversation up in a few years time,” he tells DeGeneres.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War Returns Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron

In the sequel to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Hemsworth and Charlize Theron return for an action-adventure that costars newcomers Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain. “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” has Hemsworth’s Huntsman fighting to defy the rule of Theron’s wicked Queen Ravenna.
