X-Men Apocalypse Trailer Teases Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Claws

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Claws Appear in Final X-Men Apocalypse Trailer

Is Hugh Jackman sneaking in one more Wolverine adventure?

At the end of the third and presumably final trailer for “X-Men Apocalypse,” Jennifer Lawrence‘s Mystique comes upon a body-strewn battle scene and tells Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey and Tye Sheridan’s Cyclops, “You’ve been busy.”

“We had a little help,” Cyclops replies — and then Wolverine’s metallic claws shoot out with their menacing clank.

Whether those claws belong to Jackman or another actor goes unstated; only the hand is visible. But Jackman dropped a big hint that he’ll be in the movie by posting that moment from the trailer on his Twitter page.

Wolverine Claws Weren’t Included in X-Men Apocalypse Footage Shown to Theater Owners

Jackman was not included in footage from “X-Men: Apocalypse” shown to movie theater owners at their recent CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas and the original screenplay reportedly did not include Wolverine. Jackman also has said that the upcoming “Wolverine 3” would be his last go-round.

But then the Montreal Journal reported that Jackman was coming to town for reshoots on “X-Men: Apocalypse” with director Bryan Singer apparently finding a way to sneak Wolverine into the script. The most recent cast list on IMDB also now shows Jackman as Logan/Wolverine.

X-Men Apocalypse Also Stars Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn and Nicholas Hoult

“X-Men: Apocalypse,” which opens May 27, has the immortal Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” becoming the most powerful mutant ever. He rounds up Michael Fassbender’s Magneto and other mutants to create a new world order. That leaves it to Lawrence’s Raven/Mistique and Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) to lead a team of young X-Men to save mankind. The movie also stars Olivia Munn and Nicholas Hoult.
