Ben Affleck Kept a Really Big Souvenir From Set of The Accountant
Many actors keep a souvenir or two from a movie shoot, say a favorite item from their wardrobe or a small prop. But after making the action film “The Accountant” Ben Affleck went big, bringing home the Airstream trailer used by his mild-mannered but deadly character.
“It’s at my house. I kept it,” the star tells Made in Hollywood reporter Kylie Erica Mar. “It doesn’t have the gold bars and machine guns it in. I switched it up a little bit. I didn’t have 18 passports in there and $400,000 in cash. … I loved the Airstream. So they gave me a deal on it after, and I use it as a trailer now when I’m doing movies.”
Ben Affleck Likens Director to a Magician on The Accountant
This wasn’t the only thing that Affleck loved about the experience playing Christian Wolff, a mathematics savant freelancing as an accountant for dangerous criminal organizations, in the Gavin O’Connor-directed thriller co-starring Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons.
“I’m really proud of it,” says Affleck. “From this really surprise fresh original script full of twists and turns and interesting characters I haven’t seen before, Gavin did a great job bringing that to the screen and making it work in all the ways that it’s supposed to work and in some ways I didn’t see coming.”
Affleck likens O’Connor’s work to that of a magician. “The movie has this sort of effortless movement,” he says. “That’s really a trick, it’s sleight of hand, the director pulling you through the movie when you don’t know your being manipulated.”
